Earlier today, “Ali,” a well-known leader within the Trump base, retweeted a link to Removekemp.com. The site asks volunteers to commit to removing Gregoria Governor Brian Kemp from office. The site reads, “Whatever it takes. Stop the Steal will amass a legion of patriots to #REMOVEKEMP! Please sign the petition to volunteer.”
Ali and his band of patriots have amassed a forceful political movement since the November election. #StopTheSteal has been instrumental in pressuring numerous Republican lawmakers in contested states to take action. The group has also helped host multiple rallies across the country, including a large gathering in Washington D.C. this weekend, which featured a flyover by President Trump in Marine One.
The news that Kemp may be subject to grassroots recall effort comes on the same day that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s publicly congratulated former Vice President Joe Biden as the winner in the 2020 presidential election.
