Why is Cuomo is killing restaurants?

December 16, 2020

Some 45,000 restaurants in New York have been forced to permanently close their doors because of New York’s “award-winning” Governor, Andrew Cuomo’s, harsh COVID-19 lockdowns and brutal restrictions.

Cuomo’s decision to shutdown restaurants has been meet with thunderous criticism, partly because it doesn’t jive with his own data. According to data from the state of New York, restaurants and bars have only driven about 1.4 percent of New York’s COVID-19 cases. On the other hand, personal gatherings have contributed to about 75 percent of the state’s cases.

So Cuomo is canceling a whole industry — killing small businesses and putting people out of a job—that is only making a tiny contribution to the spread of COVID-19.

I’m sure Cuomo would reply, “But it’s only 1.4% because we shut them down. It’d be much higher if we didn’t.” Do you buy that? Leave a comment with your thoughts.
