BREAKING: While on Steve Bannon’s War Room, Pennsylvania Senator Doug Mastriano announced that he will draft a joint-resolution to take back power from Pennsylvania’s governor in the appointment of presidential electors.

Senator Mastriano also says he is prepared to “take the fight all the way to the Supreme Court” if necessary.

The Constitution give states state legislatures wide latitude in the appointment of electors. In Pennsylvania, the legislature used that discretion to provide the governor with authority to appoint electors after certification of the vote by the Secretary of state.

If Senator Mastriano’s resolution passes, it would have the effect of taking back the power the Pennsylvania legislature has delegated to the executive branch (governor). In essence, the Pennsylvania legislature would become responsible for the appointment of electors again, which means the legislature could, at least theoretically, deem the election fraudulent and only appoint a slate of Trump-faithful electors.

Many legal and political questions remain, but suffice to say that if the resolution passes, we’re in for a bumpy ride.
